JR said once when we were driving...can you believe we have two kids in the back of our car and we are not bringing them home to their parents!

attack of the purple nipples!

Well the last few weeks have been pretty hectic here. I was so busy writing a paper where I had to summarize every book of the Old Testament and surprisingly I got a 100...of course I wasn't too shocked because Paul (my FIL) checked it for me. We went to the base commissary to stock up on food last Thursday because our ID's expired on Friday...so we are without medical until October 1st. So of course we are not healthy here right now. Baker and I came down with a nasty case of thrush from his antibiotics and he has a yeast diaper rash....it is not too big of a deal because over the counter stuff works just as well as the prescriptions. Anyway, I am sure some of you will find this amusing...I got gentian violet to put on my nipples for the thrush and it clears up better if you let everything get plenty of air. So here I am in my house topless with bright purple nipples from the gentian violet with a naked toddler running around...I am praying that nobody can see in my house. I am sure my neighbors are happy that I did not follow all the directions and am not exposing the areas to direct sunlight...what a sight that would be!

What is even more funny....is that although Baker is in LOVE with his "gilk" (milk) , he keeps looking at me and saying "no,no,no" and when I come near him he runs away...he is going to have nightmares about bright purple nipples attacking him! I am curious to see how he falls asleep tonight without them.

Ghetto homeschooling

Here is a picture of Baker learning at his high class desk with his homemade flashcards....I know, I know, you are thinking ghetto...but I like to call it "crafty".

Preston

Here is Preston's (my sister Heather's son) class picture. For those of you who have met Preston you will see that it shows his true personality. For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting him, he is the red head in the middle with his fist up in the air and his mouth open LOL This picture made my day!! New Pics

Little Alfalfa!!!

When we were in CT Baker fell in love with Grampie Olson's hat and now he has to put it on ALL the time, he takes it off and holds it next to him and says tada..now all he needs is his harmonica.

Baker got new shoes yesterday and he kept bringing them to JR last night to put them on him...he is not used to having shoes on since going the whole summer in sandals so when he walks he pulls his knees up like he is marching.

Daddy says no twinkle toes

Baker and I are going to sign up for a class through the town park and rec and we are trying to decide between gymnastics, dance or swimming. JR put a nix on the dance thing...I tried to tell him that there are no mommy and toddler football classes. I think he would get the most out of swimming but I also think it would be funny to see a bunch of 1 1/2 year olds doing gymnastics....not sure what we would even do but I am thinking the rings or balance beam is out...I better make sure there are no classes during the 8 days we will not have medical insurance.

Owie!!

Well in a mission to get Baker to stop hitting, I thought I finally found what would work. Sice he is so sensitive when he hit me I would get upset and say "owie" so he understood that it hurt. That worked great for a while but last night he was playing in a emergency car kit and once he got to the road flare JR took it away...well he did not like that and went and got the flashlight and came over to me and hit me with it while saying "owie, owie, owie" so I guess we need to try something else....JR of course told him that if it was not for mommy he would have gotten a spanking.

more breastmilk please

We were outside last night for a neighborhood block party and I made some comment about Baker BFing (I do not know why) and my neighbor, who is in her 50's seemed shocked...which I am totally used to and laugh about it because if anyone told me I would have been breastfeeding an almost 2 year old I would have told them they were crazy (now I am hoping he gives it up by college)...but she then said "He should really eat table food by now". WHAT??? He is 20 months old...does she really think that I have never given him other food besides bm....I am now waiting for child and family services to come to my house.
